Elon Musk’s Father Urged Him To Mend Fences With Trump: Report

Elon Musk’s father, Errol Musk, is offering advice as his son navigates a heated falling-out with President Donald Trump.

On Friday, Errol said he had sent a message to Elon, urging him to mend the situation, but expressed confidence to reporters that the two would reconcile soon, The Daily Beast reported.

“I did send him a message… telling him, make sure this fizzles out,” he told Al Arabiya English on Friday, adding the pair would “of course” reconcile and it was nothing more than “elephant bulls or alphas having a go at each other.”

Still, he expressed disappointment over his son’s reactionary responses to Trump—particularly Elon’s explosive claim that Trump was named in the FBI’s files related to alleged sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.

“I have no idea what he was thinking… I can only imagine that’s just a silly mistake,” he said, offering that his son was likely just under an undue amount of stress.

Elon has since deleted that post, perhaps in an attempt to bury the hatchet.

Musk’s post said: “Time to drop the really big bomb: @realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!”

The deletion also comes after others have vigorously smacked down the accusation as false, including Epstein’s lawyer at the time of his death.

Attorney David Schoen said in an X post that Epstein told him he had nothing inappropriate or damaging on the future president.

“I was hired to lead Jeffrey Epstein’s defense as his criminal lawyer 9 days before he died. He sought my advice for months before that. I can say authoritatively, unequivocally, and definitively that he had no information to hurt President Trump. I specifically asked him!” the attorney wrote on the platform.

Also, Michael Cohen, Trump’s former personal lawyer who had a falling out with the president during his first term, also refuted Musk’s allegation.

“I have extensive knowledge of Trump being by his side for almost a decade and a half,” Cohen told MSNBC on Friday. “I’m telling you it’s nonsense. To the best of my knowledge and everything that I know, it’s not true.”

Despite his disappointment, Errol Musk said he’s not overly concerned about the escalating feud between his son, now a special government employee, and his former close friend. He downplayed the dispute as nothing more than a clash between two “alphas.”

The father said the fiery, at times hostile exchange between his son and the president was “a bit silly,” fueled by the pressures of a demanding few months in power. He predicted the tension would “fizzle out in a few days,” despite Elon Musk’s recent call for Trump’s impeachment.

“When people have been through a great deal of stress… eventually people reach a point where they lash out,” Musk said. “Even at the highest levels, people struggle to find common ground.”

Musk and his father have had a strained relationship for years, with the Tesla CEO famously calling him a “terrible human being” in 2017.

Meanwhile, Politico reported exclusively on Sunday that aides for both Trump and Musk have been speaking behind the scenes as a means of attempting to resolve the spat.

“The shaky detente in the social media strife between President Donald Trump and Elon Musk is holding following a call between representatives for both sides Friday, according to two White House officials,” the outlet reported.

“He’s stopped posting, but that doesn’t mean he’s happy,” one of the officials told the outlet about Trump not posting about Musk on his Truth Social platform. “The future of their relationship is totally uncertain.”
