Admired Hollywood manager Peter Meyer, who was well-known for representing A-list actors including Kevin Costner and Tom Hanks, died at the age of 68 from sarcoma. “After a heroic five-year battle against sarcoma, Meyer found peace surrounded by his family,” his sister revealed. Friends and clients are saddened by his passing.
After more than ten years as a talent agent for William Morris, Meyer established Meyer Management in 1989 to represent a range of talents. On June 13, 2023, a memorial service will be held in Santa Monica’s St. Monica’s Catholic Church.
In the meantime, Kevin Costner has made large investments in his Western venture, the Horizon franchise, during his divorce from Christine Baumgartner. “I believe in the idea and the story,” he said, taking out a mortgage on a 10-acre seaside site in Santa Barbara, donating up to $50 million of the project’s $100 million budget. Despite the risks, he is determined to see it through to the end, saying, “I’m never putting my money in another movie after these four.”
