Marine One was forced to make an emergency landing in the United Kingdom on Thursday while carrying President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump, White House officials
Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said the helicopter diverted to a local airfield due to a hydraulic malfunction during the short flight from Chequers, the prime minister’s country residence, to Stansted Airport.
“Out of an abundance of caution, the pilots landed at a local airfield before reaching Stansted Airport,” Leavitt said. “The president and first lady safely boarded the support helicopter.”
