Hillary Clinton’s effort to deride President Trump’s military parade marking the U.S. Army’s 250th anniversary backfired on social media after critics accused her of showing “utter contempt” for the armed forces.
In addition, several users also pointed out that she spent the weekend basking in luxury in the Hamptons at her longtime aide’s wedding while publicly rebuking the commander-in-chief.
Clinton shared side-by-side images of Trump’s military parade on Washington’s Constitution Avenue Saturday evening. Across the country, protesters organized “No Kings Day” demonstrations both to oppose the parade and to protest the administration’s ongoing deportation raids in liberal cities.
“Compare and contrast scenes from yesterday in America,” Clinton wrote in an X post on Sunday in which she turned off responses. “On the one hand, Trump’s low-energy Dear Leader parade (that cost you $45 million). On the other, millions of people across the country gathering peacefully to say: Here, we have no kings.”
