On April 30, 2025, the U.S. and Ukraine finalized a landmark minerals deal, establishing the United States-Ukraine Reconstruction Investment Fund to tap Ukraine’s $500 billion in rare earth minerals, oil, and gas, as reported by NPR and The New York Times.
