Malia Obama, daughter of Barack and Michelle Obama, is carving her own path in film. Now 25, she recently debuted her directorial project The Heart at the Sundance Film Festival, using the name Malia Ann, dropping her famous surname.

A Harvard graduate, Malia has previously worked on the series Swarm in 2021, earning praise for her writing talent. Despite her background, her colleagues describe her as grounded and hardworking.
