Hurricane Helene has taken a devastating toll, claiming at least 135 lives, with the Carolinas hardest hit. Among those lost were 7-year-old Micah Drye and his grandparents in Asheville, North Carolina. They were swept away by floodwaters after seeking refuge on a rooftop. Although Megan Drye, Micah’s mother, survived, she tragically lost her son and parents in the disaster.

Megan’s sister, Jessica Drye Turner, shared the heartbreaking story online, recounting Micah’s final words: “Jesus! Please help me!” She expressed her grief and faith, stating, “New grief and strong faith. New motto.” Micah’s body was later found about a quarter mile from where Megan had been rescued.
