Snoop Dogg Is In Shock. With Heavy Hearts, We Announce The Passing

Snoop Dogg, a legendary figure in the world of music, has always been known for his distinctive voice and laid-back style. However, behind his iconic image stood a man who played a pivotal role in his career—Bing Worthington. With a heavy heart, we announce the passing of Bing Worthington, Snoop Dogg’s half-brother, at the age of 44. As Snoop mourns the loss of his beloved sibling, we reflect on Bing’s life, his contributions to the music industry, and the legacy he leaves behind.

A Humble Beginning

Born on May 4, 1979, in California, Bing Worthington’s journey began in the bustling streets of Long Beach. It was here that he met Mymy Jordan, his high school sweetheart, at Long Beach High School. The couple eventually married, and while they were known to have a son together, they chose to keep his name and birth details private. This desire for privacy extended throughout Bing’s life, as he often shied away from the limelight, preferring to work behind the scenes.

The Roadie Turned Tour Manager

Bing’s initial foray into the music industry was as a roadie for Snoop Dogg’s shows. This experience gave him a front-row seat to the highs and lows of the music business. As he gained more experience, Bing transitioned into the role of Snoop’s tour manager. He was not just a brother but a vital cog in the machine that kept Snoop’s career rolling smoothly. His keen sense of organization and business acumen made him an indispensable part of Snoop’s team.

A Passion for Music

Beyond managing tours, Bing was also an artist in his own right. He was a member of the group Lifestyle, which released the album Liquid Cocaine in 2003. The album featured a lead single on the soundtrack for the movie Van Wilder 2. In a 2016 interview with Vice, Bing reflected on the release of the album, saying, “When I released the album, I put all the songs on it together. Both my boyfriend and I were great rappers, but I started to wonder why I was working on music. I should be taking care of all the business side of this. Meeting new people and talking business gets me going.” This realization marked a turning point in Bing’s career, steering him toward the business side of the industry.

Bing also contributed to Snoop Dogg’s rap group Tha Eastsidaz by helping write the song “Be Thankful,” which he considered the most significant piece of music he had ever made. Despite his talents, Bing preferred the behind-the-scenes work, eventually giving up his dreams of becoming a rapper to focus on managing and producing music.

A Quiet Legacy

In 2016, Bing relocated to Canada and merged his studio and production company, Dogg Records, with Miguel Lopez’s hip-hop label, Urban Heat Legends. This merger represented a new chapter in Bing’s life, allowing him to continue his passion for music production and management. His work may not have always been in the spotlight, but those who knew him understood the crucial role he played in shaping the careers of many artists, including his brother, Snoop Dogg.

A Family Connection

Bing Worthington was more than just a colleague to Snoop Dogg; he was family. The two shared the same mother, Beverly Tate, making them half-brothers. Snoop, whose real name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., has another half-brother, Jerry Wesley Carter, on his mother’s side. Jerry, who works for United Steel Workers, occasionally appears on Snoop’s Instagram but remains largely out of the public eye.

On February 16, 2024, Snoop Dogg took to Instagram to share the heartbreaking news of Bing’s passing. In a touching post, Snoop shared an old-school video clip of himself, Bing, their other brother Jerry, and their sister laughing and joking in a cemetery. The caption read, “@badabing33 always made us laugh u bac with moms,” accompanied by a blue heart, a prayer, and a crying face emoji. In another post, Snoop shared a photo of himself with Bing in a green room, adding a dove and prayer emoji to the caption.

The cause of Bing’s death remains unknown, adding a layer of mystery and sorrow to his untimely passing. As Snoop and his family navigate this difficult time, they hold onto the memories of Bing’s life and the impact he had on those around him.

A Tribute to Bing Worthington

Bing Worthington’s story is one of quiet strength and resilience. He may not have sought the spotlight, but his influence was felt in every aspect of Snoop Dogg’s career. From his early days as a roadie to becoming a successful tour manager and producer, Bing left an indelible mark on the music industry. His dedication, passion, and love for his family were evident in everything he did

As the world mourns the loss of Bing Worthington, we remember him not just as Snoop Dogg’s brother but as a talented and kind-hearted individual who touched the lives of many. His legacy will continue to live on through the music he helped create and the memories he left behind. Rest in peace, Bing Worthington. You will be missed but never forgotten.
