Oprah Winfrey and Gayle King finally respond to longstanding rumors about their relationship

Oprah Winfrey is arguably one of the biggest names in the media and her friendship with Gayle King is not one that is unnoticed. Now, the duo are addressing some rumors that have plagued them for a while.

Oprah Winfrey did something rare recently: She addressed a rumor about herself that had been plaguing her for a while. Winfrey was sitting down with her bestie Gayle King for an interview with Melinda Gates on her, ‘Moments That Make Us’ series.

During the series, the couple touched upon some rumors that have been trailing them for a long time: that they are in a long-term, covert relationship.

Winfrey revealed that the pair has faced questions about the nature of their relationship for years. They revealed that at one point, Gayle even begged Oprah to do a show about them not being THAT close because it was getting in between her love life and making it hard for her to get dates.

Winfrey said she thinks people are not used to seeing two women so close with such a “truth bond.” So when they do see two women so close, they tend to think they must secretly be in an intimate romantic relationship.

Gayle said that she assumed that every woman had a close bond with another woman as she shares with Oprah, someone who cares as much, if not more, about her friend’s success, even over that of her own.

People have known about the rumors for a while. This is not the first time Winfrey has addressed this rumor. A few years ago, Andy Cohen asked her about her sexuality and Oprah was firm to shut everything down.

Cohen asked Oprah if she had ever “taken a dip in the lady pond” to which Oprah firmly said no. Cohen later revealed that asking Oprah that question was one of his biggest regrets.

Oprah and Gayle have said that if there was something between them, they would reveal it to the public but since there is no such thing, they are keeping nothing secret!
